... just walking among them made me shutter. Those little critters are disgusting. The roads were red in the car tracks from the sheer amount.
When I was younger I caught some of these nasty critters and put them in resin to make paper weights. I thought they would be such a fun conversation piece. However, I learned a few things:
1. Mormon crickets are awful alive or dead. Whether they are staring at you through a glob of resin or on the side of the road, they are not where I want my eyes to land.
2. When dying, crickets give off a gas or air that makes bubbles in the resin. I guess you are supposed to hold them and pop the bubbles, but I hadn't learned that lesson yet. I quickly moved to # three.
3. Toss, burn or bury. Leave no sign they were ever here.
